Ray

Ray.jpg

Ray grew up in Reservoir until the age of 18, worked as an apprentice butcher, then he joined the navy. Ray joined the submarine squadron and picked up skills as an electrician. Once Ray left the navy, he moved to Eltham, became a hotel manager, and lived there until his divorce.

Ray bought his own truck and lived in Preston. After Ray was robbed of his only money through fraud, he ended up on the streets for four years. Ray was placed in residential accommodation with the Salvation Army.

After being mistakenly admitted into a psychiatric ward due to a misunderstanding, Ray was introduced to Wintringham.

Ray says: “I can’t speak more highly enough about Wintringham. I couldn’t be happier living here, all the shops I use are within a slow 10 minute walk, the people of Wintringham have been really nice to me."
