“This piece was painted for a botanical exhibition but in the end, it wasn’t entered, although I did think that it would be lovely in a kitchen to add a bit of colour to the walls. With water colour paints you can’t paint over it, so I had to paint around each seed. I am really happy with the shadows, but I love the stem best. Although I have never had a lesson, I did teach my daughters when they were at school.”
